This is an enormous chain and I’m sorry, but I need to say this:
The laws in the Old Testament were set forth by god as the rules the Hebrews needed to follow in order to be righteous, to atone for the sin of Adam and Eve and to be able to get into Heaven. That is also why they were required to make sacrifices, because it was part of the appeasement for Original Sin.
According to Christian theology, when Jesus came from Heaven, it was for the express purpose of sacrificing himself on the cross so that our sins may be forgiven. His sacrifice was supposed to be the ultimate act that would free us from the former laws and regulations and allow us to enter Heaven by acting in his image. That is why he said “it is finished” when he died on the cross. That is why Christians don’t have to circumcise their sons (god’s covenant with Jacob), that is why they don’t have to perform animal sacrifice, or grow out their forelocks, or follow any of the other laws of Leviticus.
When you quote Leviticus as god’s law and say they are rules we must follow because they are what god or Jesus wants us to do, what you are really saying, as a Christian, is that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was invalid. He died in vain because you believe we are still beholden to the old laws. That is what you, a self-professed good Christian, are saying to your god and his son, that their plan for your salvation wasn’t good enough for you.
So maybe actually read the thing before you start quoting it, because the implications of your actions go a lot deeper than you think.
This is your Mod J speaking.
Hate to sound blunt, but absolutely not. It’s not really wise or respectful to bother writers/creators about their characters that they wrote a specific way. We as fans can ship characters and accept that our ships may or may not be canon.
Whether or not rumors of intentional subtext are true, I didn’t make this blog to cater to only those who ship the two, I made the blog for everyone who likes the characters in general to enjoy. Not everyone ships a ship. Some people dislike it. And that’s okay. That’s their choice.
That’s why I include a lot of solo/singular posts with them and balance it out with some posts of them together, and not all of them contain shipping subtext.
I can see that your intentions are good, really, but it’s not worth pursuing. Just enjoy shipping because you enjoy it, not because you want it to be canon.
ETA: TL;DR: Contacting writers about shipping is very much toeing a line. Would not recommend.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT FOR EVERY FANDOM
As someone who creates a comic and has received, on several occasions, emails from readers requesting validation of relationships they “ship,” or demanding future storytelling be adjusted towards verifying it (considerably more of the latter, really), yeah - DON’T DO THAT.
There’s a relatively long tradition, in the field of data visualization, of tracking the way we swear. This makes sense. Not only is it fun to track, but cursing is also conveniently specific as a data set; you’ve got your f-bombs and your double hockey sticks and your bodily functions, and, factoring in their permutations, you’re good to go. Plus, you don’t need much sophisticated sentiment analysis to ensure that your data are accurate: An f-bomb is pretty much an f-bomb, regardless of the contextual subtleties. As a result of all this, we, the public, get treated to sweary heat maps. And more sweary heat maps. And sweary interactive maps. There’s just something about big data and sailor-cursing that complement each other—like peanut butter and mothereffing jelly.
Traditionally, those maps are based on text—on swears that are typed into Facebook or, even more publicly, Twitter. Making a map of the sweariest states requires simply gathering geocoded posts, isolating the swears, and going from there.

And congrats to California, for being polite while swearing like sailors.
Fuck yeah, ladies and gentlemen.
*bows from California* Thank you very much, Bitches ^.^

Really, though, how dare they take Queen Elizabeth 1 and turn her into another lovesick woman waiting for her beloved Doctor?
Queen Elizabeth 1 who did not marry because she considered herself married to her country. Queen Elizabeth 1 who did not marry because she had seen what became of her poor half sister Mary who lost the support of the people and almost suffered a rebellion when she married a Spanish royal. Queen Elizabeth 1 who did not marry because she believed that to be a fair and just leader, she could not let her heart rule her head. Queen Elizabeth 1 who did not marry because was abused by a man she was supposed to be able to trust in her early teens. Elizabeth 1 whose mother was brutally slaughtered by her husband and so did not trust in love.
It’s insulting and poor sexist writing to disregard that important choice on her behalf. It’s upsetting, and predictable, and everything I expected from Steven Moffat, who cannot seem to write a significant female character who isn’t in love, obsessed with, or entirely reliant on the Doctor.

I will never get over the inequality that men’s jackets have inside pockets and women’s jackets don’t.
